This project combined human and natural history in a small footprint.

Topic

The Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monument includes almost 500,000 acres of public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This picturesque area includes rocky peaks, narrow canyons, and open desert. The human story of the area stretches back more than 10,000 years. The story of the plants, animals, and rocks stretches back further.

The visitor center exhibit is a way-station where visitors rest and gain insights that help them get the most out of their visit.

About the Project

The visitor center is being renovated to better serve as a focal point for the newly created National Monument. The exhibit redesign is also brings together research and expertise from different departments within the Bureau of Land Management. I served as the primary exhibit developer, researcher, and content creator. The project uses a combination of graphic panels, touchscreens, media, objects, and scenic elements to explores a broad sweep of history, geology, and ecology in a limited space.

I worked on this project as the senior content developer at EXP Studios.
